2025 MSBL/MABL World Series · Phoenix Metro, Arizona
The Long Island Black Sox won the 2025 National Division 25+ championship with an 11–2 victory over Las Vegas. Pitcher Anderson De Leon worked seven strong innings, allowing two runs in the fifth. Dylan Castaneda relieved in the eighth, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out the side in the ninth to seal the championship.
Long Island struck first when Francisco Soriano's infield single led to a run on Bruce Valentin's fielder's choice. Ben Farias singled to start the second and scored on consecutive singles by Jordan Ibert and Brian Padilla, extending the lead.
The third inning proved decisive. Five consecutive hits by Bruce Valentin, Rob Rodriguez, Gus Mejia, Ben Farias, and Jordan Ibert — plus a walk to Brian Padilla — pushed the lead to 6–0. Long Island added insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings to put the game out of reach.
The Black Sox represent the longest-running franchise in MSBL history, operating since 1986. Manager Jimmy Rose was inducted into the Long Island MSBL Hall of Fame in 1998, and this championship adds another chapter to a storied legacy spanning nearly four decades of senior baseball.
