2025 MSBL/MABL World Series · Phoenix Metro, Arizona
The Boston Wolfpack claimed the 55+ National title at the 2025 MSBL World Series, defeating the Yonder Travelers 6–1 in a rematch of the previous year's championship — which the Travelers had won. MVP Urbano Leal anchored the victory, pitching 7⅔ innings while allowing one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts.
Boston finished pool play at 5–1 having split two earlier games with Yonder. The Pack's pitching depth came from Mike Smith, Mike Noto, Edgardo Mercado, Jose Delgado, and Marco Barragan throughout the week. Efrain Nieves led the offense, batting over .600 for the tournament. Ahmed Rodriguez, Richie Sexton, Smith, and Delgado also contributed consistently.
In the championship, Boston scored two in the second on Mark Whiten's single and Richie Sexton's triple, before Leal retired the first eleven Travelers batters. Four more runs followed in the sixth on consecutive singles by Mickey Bordon, Kennon McCaa, and Eddie Fuller, plus Nieves' two-out double and Smith's base hit.
Yonder scored in the seventh on three hits and a walk, but a double play ended the rally. Steve Frellick led Yonder with three hits, and Scott Marabell delivered a powerful double. It wasn't enough against a dominant Leal and a Wolfpack offense that never let up.
